IGNIBRUM engineers invited to UDEM inspire students with a human vision of technology.

Science and technology served as the starting point for a much deeper reflection during the conference “Creating Tomorrow Today,” where international researchers shared with students from the School of Engineering and Technologies at the University of Monterrey (UDEM) a renewed perspective on the role of innovation in society.

Far from focusing solely on technical advances, the speakers invited students to reflect on the true purpose of engineering: placing technology at the service of people. In this sense, they highlighted how disciplines such as robotics, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology can be applied to enhance human quality of life — from studying aging and hormonal processes to supporting early cancer detection through intelligent systems capable of analyzing complex medical data.

The guests agreed that university education must integrate science, ethics, and empathy, fostering a generation of engineers who not only design machines or algorithms, but also develop solutions that respond to human needs. “It’s no longer just about artificial intelligence, but about what we do with it — what meaning we give it and how it can help us care for what we love,” one of the participants emphasized during the event.

The discussion also addressed the importance of values in professional education, highlighting UDEM’s commitment to humanism, sustainability, and social transformation. Students actively engaged in the dialogue, sharing ideas on how innovation can contribute to building a fairer and more conscious society.

In closing, the speakers emphasized the importance of perseverance and passion for the little things, reminding everyone that one doesn’t need to go to Mars to change the world — sometimes it’s enough to recognize the value of what’s already around us.

“Investing in students is investing in the future,” one of them concluded to strong applause. “Because the greatest revolutions begin in the classroom, in a shared idea… or in a simple gesture of love for what we do every day.”
